Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill – A Good Buy For You?
The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill has been updated for this year with a sleeker console and improved cooling fan.
This treadmill earned a “Best Buy” award from a leading consumer magazine. It also got high marks from Runners’ World.
And it’s not hard to see why. You get a lot packed into the under-$1300 price tag.
The strong 3.5 HP motor easily powers through longer, running workouts.
Plus you can add some high-calorie burning intervals with the 15% incline and even 3% decline.
The tablet holder above the console lets you add your tablet and watch your favorite shows as you walk.
And the extra long belt gives you extra room to stretch out and run.

Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill Review – The Pros:
Large, Backlit Console
The dual color console is large, bright and easy to read. Proform has updated it to a new sleeker look without some of the bulk of last year’s model.
There are also one-touch incline and speed buttons for quick changes on the fly and an improved console fan for better cooling power.
You’ll also notice that there’s a tablet-holder above the console. So you can attach your tablet and watch Netflix movies or your favorite TV shows as you walk.
Strong 3.5 HP Motor
The motor is dynamically spin-balanced and UL safety-certified for a treadmill that can take a bit more beating and hold up well.
It can keep up easily with walkers or runners alike and easily powers the larger sized belt (if you have a large belt and not enough motor power, you can quickly burn out your motor).
It’s also covered by a lifetime motor warranty, giving you some great protection on your investment.
Extra Large Belt
At 22 x 60 inches this is one of the longest and widest belts Proform makes – and gives you extra room to stretch out and move!
Runners and taller users will especially appreciate it as they won’t feel like they’re bumping up against the edge of the treadmill.
Incline AND Decline
You get up to 15% incline and even 3% decline to add extra crosstraining and challenge to your workout. This is a great way to add in some high calorie-burning intervals as you can burn up to 2 X the calories when walking at a 15% incline (vs 0% incline).
Folding To Save Space
The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill folds up easily to save you space. It also comes with a shock-assisted mechanism that helps you lift the deck easily to save the strain on your back.
Reach New Fitness Heights With iFit Coach
iFit Coach is an optional extra with this treadmill. With iFit Coach you can track your workout stats online to see how far you’ve come. You can also download new workouts to your treadmill for new workout challenges.
If you have a tablet you can also connect to iFit that way and select world famous trails to run – from Paris to Hawaii.
As you’re running or walking on the treadmill, you’ll see actual landmarks pass you by on the tablet screen for a more virtual-reality feel to your workout (see image above). The treadmill also inclines and declines to match the actual terrain – very cool.
Excellent Expert Reviews
The Proform Pro 2000 earned a “Best Buy” award from a leading consumer magazine.
Plus, Runner’s World liked it as well saying:
“If you’re on a budget, the entry level Pro 2000 delivers more than most similarly priced treadmills. Testers liked how quickly and smoothly it changed speed and incline-getting the machine whirring as fast as 12 mph takes just one finger tap”
Integrated Accessories Tray
There’s a 2nd tray under the console to store your keys, rolled up magazines or remote. This may seem like a small thing – but it’s very convenient and you don’t often find it with treadmills at this price point.
Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill Review – the Cons:
Dual Color Console
Unlike some of Proform’s starter treadmills, this one is really large and super-heavy. Don’t expect to move it yourself without help – or to put it together and then move it yourself.
Also the treadmill footprint is a hefty 63” H x 39.5” W x 80” L. So while it does fold up to save space, make sure you’re not planning on putting it in a smaller workout room.
If you’re looking for an affordable mid-range treadmill – one that’s built strong enough for runners or walkers alike – you’ll probably be very happy with the Proform Pro 2000. It’s built like a tank and doesn’t shake or wobble, even when you pick up the pace.
Plus it has a softer side to keep you entertained – from the iFit Coach option to the tablet holder and even the iPod dock, you’ll never run out of things to keep yourself busy on this treadmill.
