Wondering which is best for you?
These are both very popular Proform, mid-range treadmills.
The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill has pulled in several “Best Buys” over the years and probably gets more attention than the Proform 1295i.
However the Proform 1295i is the premium version of the Proform Power series – treadmills built with tougher motors and stronger decks than Proform’s starter models.
It also has a few things that the Pro 2000 treadmill does not.
So what are the key differences between these two treadmills? And which is the best value for your money?
Let’s dive in and take a look:
Proform 1295i vs 2000 Treadmill – Price
Prices do jump around on these two treadmills, depending on the season. However, as of this writing The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill comes in a bit lower. You can get it around $1299 with Free Shipping here.
The Proform Power 1295i treadmill comes in a bit more at around $1399 with Free Shipping here.
So for now, the Proform 2000 has a slight edge when it comes to affordability.
Proform 1295 vs 2000 Treadmill – Console
This is where you’ll see a big difference between these two treadmills. The Proform Pro 2000 has a standard dual-color, backlit console as you see below:
The Proform 1295i steps it up to a full-color, HD, touch-screen console as you can see here:
The full-color console on the 1295i model is obviously much more impressive than the dual-color display on the Pro 2000 model. You can easily see your workout stats with a swipe of your finger. It also makes viewing the iFit scenery much more fun (more on iFit below).
Both consoles however come with an adustable tablet holder. So you can attach your tablet and surf the web or watch your favorite TV shows as you run, which is pretty cool.
They also both have mp3 ports with speakers so you can plug in your phone and play your music through the speakers.
Proform 1295i or Proform 2000 – Incline/Decline
Both treadmills give you from 0 – 15% incline, which is great.
However the Proform 2000 treadmill also adds a 3% decline feature. A lot of people like this as walking downhill can give you a nice break from a heavy interval training session and allow you to catch your breath faster.
Proform 1295i vs Pro 2000 – Heart Rate
Both treadmills come with an EKG hand grip pulse sensor. So you can grasp the hand grips and get a heart rate reading to see if you’re in your target fat-burning zone.
However if you get the Proform 2000 treadmill from the Manufacturer, you can also get a Free wireless chest strap included with your treadmill.
While the Proform 1295i will work with a wireless heart rate monitor, it is not included with the treadmill.
A Word About iFit
iFit Coach takes your treadmill online and from there you can do all sorts of fun things. You can track your workouts over time and see how far you’ve come.
You can also run trails all over the world – from Hawaii to Paris – and see the landmarks pass you by in the console or tablet.
There are over 12,000 different workout videos to choose from in the iFit library – from walking tours of famous landmarks to training the Boston marathon.
Here’s the difference:
Because the Proform 2000 treadmill has the dual color console, if you want to use iFit Coach on this treadmill you’ll need to have your own tablet and connect to iFit that way (see pic above).
With the Proform 1295i, as it has the full-color, touch-screen console, you don’t need a tablet.
You can connect to iFit directly from the console and watch the different trails and video workouts that way (see pic below).
(You can also connect to iFit through your tablet on the 1295i treadmill if you want.)
And the best part?
If you get the Proform 1295i treadmill through the Manufacturer, you can currently also get a 1 year membership iFit Coach included with your treadmill.
So you can try it out to see if you like it for the full year! That is an incredible value that you don’t (currently) get with the Proform 2000.
So which is best when comparing the Proform 1295i vs 2000 treadmills?
Both treadmills have their own strengths. The Proform 2000 gives you 3% decline and the free heart rate chest strap – which you don’t get on the 1295i model.
However the Proform 1295i treadmill gives you a much nicer, full-color console display along with the Free iFit coach workouts. So you’ll have a constant stream of different video workouts to try.
So it really comes down to what you’re most interested in when you go to workout.
