Proform 1295 vs 5000 Treadmill – Console
Both treadmills give you something you don’t often get with other mid-range treadmill brands – a full-color HD, touch-screen console. However the layout of the actual console on these two treadmills is different.

As you can see, there are a few design differences between them. The fan is a bit larger on the Proform 5000 and the layout is a little easier to navigate.
However the full-color display window is the same size on both treadmills – 7 inches across.
You’ll also notice that while there is a stability bar beneath the Proform 1295i console, you get a full stability bar with extra shelf on the Proform 5000. This is a handy way to store your keys, remote etc.

Both treadmills give you from 0 – 15% incline, which is great for adding high-calorie burning intervals.

Proform 1295i vs Pro 5000 – Motor
A strong motor will power your treadmill through the toughest running workouts. The more you plan on using your treadmill, the stronger your motor power should be – especially if you’re a runner.
The Proform 1295i treadmill gives you a 3.5 HP motor – which is excellent. However the Proform Pro 5000 treadmill goes one better with an impressive 4.0 HP motor. So it will hold up a bit better to longer, running workouts over time.

The Proform 1295i comes with an extra long 20 x 60 inch belt – which is quite generous and gives you a lot of room to stretch out and run.
However the Proform 5000 is slightly roomier with a wider 22 x 60 inch belt.

Both treadmills give you an EKG grip pulse sensor in front of the console – so you can grab the sensor to get a heart rate reading through the console display.
However if you get the Proform 5000 through the Manufacturer, you can get a Free Wireless Heart Rate Chest Strap included.
A lot of people prefer the wireless heart rate monitor since it gives you a continuous reading without you having to constantly hang on to the EKG sensors.

Both treadmills have benefits for you. The Proform 1295i has some great basics plus a full-color console. It also comes in a little more affordable than the Proform 5000.
The Proform 5000 however give you additional decline (as well as incline), a wider belt, stronger motor and a free wireless heart rate monitor.
So it really comes down to what is most important to you.
