Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack 1650 Treadmill – Which is Best For You? (Updated)
Trying to compare between the Proform 2000 treadmill vs Nordictrack 1650 treadmill? Wondering which is best for you?
You’re not alone. These are two popular, well-rated treadmills that run around the same price point. And they have very similar features.
Both come with high 12 MPH speed limits and strong 3.5 HP motor powers. Both are iFit Coach compatible – so you can track your results online, download new workouts and run all over the world from Santorini to the Swiss Alps.
So what’s the difference between them? And which one is best for you?
This post will review the key differences between these two treadmills to help you make a more informed decision.
Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack 1650 Treadmill – Price
As of this writing the Proform 2000 treadmill is about $100 less than the Nordictrack 1650. You can get it around $1299 with Free Shipping here.
The Nordictrack 1650 treadmill has a few more premium features and comes in around $1399 with Free Shipping here.
So from a budget perspective the Proform 2000 has the edge here.
Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack 1650 Treadmill – Console
You see a substantial difference between these two treadmills when it comes to the console. The Proform 2000 has a bright, backlit console that is easy to read. However it’s only dual color and it measures 7 inches across:
The Nordictrack 1650 treadmill however comes with a full-color, HD touch-screen console as seen below, which is quite a difference.
It’s also larger at 10 inches across, making it easier to read your workout stats.
Obviously the Nordictrack 1650 treadmill wins out here – the console is larger and full-color. That makes it a lot easier to see your workout stats with a swipe of your finger. It also makes the iFit Coach workouts a lot more fun to watch (more on iFit below).
Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack 1650 – Incline/Decline
The Nordictrack 1650 treadmill gives you from 0 – 12% incline – which is pretty good. However the Proform 2000 goes one better and gives you up to 15% incline.
Plus you also get up to 3% decline with the Proform 2000 treadmill as well.
Adding incline/decline can really help you burn more calories during your workout and the Proform 2000 gives you a few more options in this area.
Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack 1650 – Belt Size
While both treadmills give you a generous 60 inch long belt – which is great for runners to stretch out their legs, the Proform 2000 gives you a bit of a wider belt: 22 inches vs 20 inches on the Nordictrack 1650.
So you have a bit more room to move on the Proform 2000.
Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack 1650 – Heart Rate Monitor
The Nordictrack 1650 treadmill is compatible with a wireless heart rate chest strap – but it is not included with your treadmill.
However if you get the Proform Pro 2000 treadmill direct from the Manufacturer here, you can get a Free wireless heart rate chest strap included with your treadmill.
A lot of people prefer the wireless monitor over the hand grip sensors (found on both treadmills) because it tends to give you more accurate results. It’s also a lot more convenient than having to continually grasp the hand sensors to get feedback.
iFit Coach Differences
iFit Coach is a very cool new technology that can turn a boring treadmill into your own personal fitness studio.
With iFit you can track your workouts over time, set and achieve new goals.
You can also follow personal trainers on workouts all over the world – from the shores of Santorini to the streets of Paris. In fact there are over 12,000 iFit workout videos to choose from – from HIIT workouts to walking tours through famous landmarks.
With the Proform 2000 treadmill, since it has the dual-color console, if you want to try iFit, you’ll need to connect through your tablet (see pic above).
However with the Nordictrack 1650 treadmill – because it has the full-color HD console, you can connect to iFit through your console and watch the scenery through there. You don’t need a tablet (see pic below).
When it comes to the Proform 2000 vs Nordictrack 1650 comparison – both treadmills have their benefits.
The Proform 2000 has a higher incline and wider belt. Plus you can get a Free wireless heart rate monitor included.
The Nordictrack 1650 treadmill however does give you a much better full-color console that’s also larger and easier to read.
So it really comes down to what’s most important to you.
