Proform 5000 or Nordictrack 1750 – Motor
Although both models have stronger-than-industry-standard motors, the Proform Pro 5000 edges out the Nordictrack 1750 treadmill with a slightly stronger motor: 3.75 vs 3.6 HP.
It’s not a huge difference – but if you’re looking for the toughest motor you can find (say if you’re a runner or are planning on extra long workouts), this is something you’ll want to consider.
How Do the Consoles Compare?
The consoles both have the full-color, HD, touch-screen consoles and tablet holders above the console. However they do differ in that the Proform 5000 treadmill has a larger 10 inch console display seen below:

The larger console on the Proform 5000 can make your workouts a lot more fun and enjoyable to watch.
Also note that even though the pic above does not show it, you do get a tablet holder with the Proform 5000 treadmill just like the Nordictrack 1750.
You may notice a few layout differences between the two consoles as well.
The one-touch speed and incline buttons run up and down the sides of the console on the Nordictrack 1750 whereas they run along the bottom of the console on the Proform 5000. The speaker position is also slightly different.

The Nordictrack 1750 has a footprint measuring 81.3″ L x 39.2″ W.
In contrast the Proform 5000 treadmill measures 77″ L x 39.15″ W. So while it’s not a huge difference, the Proform Pro 5000 treadmill is slightly shorter than the Nordictrack 1750.
