Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill – A Good Buy For You?

The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill is one of Proform’s most popular, runner-friendly treadmills.
It earned a “Best Buy” award from a leading consumer magazine last year and also got high marks from Runners’ World a couple of years ago.
It’s not hard to see why. You get a lot of features packed into a very small price point.
You can add some high-calorie burning intervals with the 15% incline and even 3% decline.
Plus Proform has updated it this year with a new, full-color HD console, which looks incredible.

Proform Pro 2000 Treadmill Review – The Benefits:
Multi-Color, HD Console
Proform updated the console on this treadmill – and it’s so much better than the older model. The new model carries a multi-color, touch-screen HD console whereas the older model only had a dual-color (non-touch-screen) console.
Here’s a pic of the old console:

And here’s the new Proform 2000 console:

As you can see, this is quite a bit nicer than the older model.
Plus (although it doesn’t show in the pic above), you still get a tablet holder on the new model just like the older model. So you can still attach your tablet above the console and watch your favorite shows or surf the web as you walk.
Extra Large Belt
At 22 x 60 inches this is one of the longest and widest belts Proform makes – and gives you extra room to stretch out and move!
Runners and taller users will especially appreciate it as they won’t feel like they’re bumping up against the edge of the treadmill.
Incline AND Decline
You get up to 15% incline and even 3% decline to add extra crosstraining and challenge to your workout. This is a great way to add in some high calorie-burning intervals as you can burn up to 2 X the calories when walking at a 15% incline (vs 0% incline).
Folding To Save Space
The Proform Pro 2000 treadmill folds up easily to save you space. It also comes with a shock-assisted mechanism that helps you lift the deck easily to save the strain on your back.
Reach New Fitness Heights With iFit Coach
iFit Coach is a smart-training feature that connects your treadmill to the Internet using the Wi-Fi in your home.
With iFit Coach you can track your workout stats online to see how far you’ve come. You can also download new workouts to your treadmill for new workout challenges.

Need some distraction? Choose from a huge library of training videos – and travel famous trails all over the world – from Paris to Hawaii.
As you’re running or walking on the treadmill, you’ll see actual landmarks pass you by in the console screen for a more virtual-reality feel to your workout (see image above). The treadmill also inclines and declines to match the actual terrain – very cool.
Can’t get to the gym? No worries.

Take a high-energy studio fitness class right from your treadmill.
You have so many things you can do with iFit Coach that you’ll always have a new challenge.
The best part?
If you get the new Proform Pro 2000 treadmill from the Manufacturer, you can currently get a 1 year membership to iFit Coach included. So you can try it out for a full year to see if you like it!

Integrated Accessories Tray
There’s a 2nd tray under the console to store your keys, rolled up magazines or remote. This may seem like a small thing – but it’s very convenient and you don’t often find it with treadmills at this price point.
Proform 2000 Treadmill Review – What You Should Know:
Console Display
The console is smaller than the console displays on the Pro 5000 or 9000 treadmills. Considering these treadmills don’t cost much more, many people may prefer to upgrade and get the larger screen on these models.
iFit Coach
While you can try iFit out for a year, eventually if you want to continue to use iFit, you will need to renew your subscription. You don’t need to have iFit to use this treadmill – it works fine without it. But it’s something to keep in mind.
Bottom Line?
If you’re looking for a very reasonably-priced, mid-range treadmill – one that’s built strong enough for runners or walkers alike – you’ll probably love the Proform Pro 2000. It’s built like a tank and doesn’t shake or wobble, even when you pick up the pace.
Plus it has a softer side to keep you entertained – from the iFit Coach option to the color touch-screen and even the iPod dock, you’ll never run out of things to keep yourself entertained on this treadmill!
